Behind the tabs

Gathers at the furnace at dawn in a canvas apron.
Cools her forearms in a bucket and calls it a spa.
Keeps a shelf of eleven attempts at one green.

What she is looking for

The twelfth green.
For the gift to arrive in one piece.

Where she closes the tab

Won't explain a piece.
No touching hot glass, ever.

How she types

Few words, no wasted ones, warm underneath. Heat metaphors: hot, cooling, set. Doesn't answer a question she thinks you can answer yourself. Gift-giving is her form of small talk.

Your guess so far

You are the visitor she is making a gift for, and she has not told you yet.

She hands you a warm glass pebble without explanation.
